I spent the first chapter of my career as a fundraising executive, partnering with organizations like Columbia University and the Whitney Museum of American Art to cultivate major gifts from high-net-worth donors. That work taught me that success in high-stakes conversations isn't just about credentials; it's about communicating with clarity, confidence, and genuine authenticity. When I moved into recruitment, I saw the same truth from a different angle: talented, qualified candidates losing opportunities not because they weren't good enough, but because they couldn't make the hiring manager feel that they were.
My background as an actor adds another dimension to this work—a deep fluency in the subtle cues that shape how we're perceived, from body language and tone to the small hesitations that can quietly undermine an otherwise strong candidate.
