FAQs about interview coaching from The Thoughtful Candidate.
Whether you’re entering the workforce for the first time or making a move years in the making, the right preparation changes everything. New grads learn to talk about who they are with clarity and confidence. Experienced professionals changing fields, returning to work, or preparing for a pivotal interview rediscover their strengths and learn how to express them. Wherever you are, the goal is the same: to help you show up as your most capable, authentic self.

People who know they have more to offer than what’s coming across. That might be a new grad walking into their first round of interviews, a professional aiming for a bigger role, or a career- changer who needs to find a way to tell their unique story. If you’ve ever left an interview thinking “I‘m so much better than that,” You’re exactly who I work with.

If we’re a good fit, I’ll recommend the package that makes the most sense for your goals. Once you’ve chosen your package, you’ll receive a simple service agreement and payment details, and then we’ll schedule your first session.

Many coaching programs start from a place of deficit—the idea that you can’t succeed without their particular method or product. I believe the opposite: everything you need is already there. My job is to help you find it. Through the Authentic Advantage Method™, we work on clarifying your story, translating your experience into compelling answers, and expressing yourself with genuine confidence so you’re not performing a script, you’re showing up as yourself.

My background is an unusual combination that turns out to be exactly right for this work: 20+ years in fundraising, where I built relationships and navigated high-stakes conversations with major donors; recruitment experience, where I saw firsthand why qualified candidates get passed over; and training as an actor, which gave me a fluency in presence, body language, and the subtle cues that shape how you’re perceived. I’ve been on both sides of the table—and I know what actually moves the needle.

No, and you should be skeptical of anyone who promises otherwise. Hiring decisions depend on many factors outside of anyone’s control. What I can promise is that you’ll walk into your interviews clearer, more confident, and better prepared to communicate your value than you were before. That’s the part of the process you can control and it’s the part that most often makes the difference.

Consider the math: the difference between landing a role and not, or negotiating well versus accepting the first number can be worth thousands of dollars, sometimes much more. But beyond the numbers, there’s what clients tell me matters most: walking into the room feeling like their best selves: calm, confident and ready to go. That confidence doesn’t expire after one interview. It’s a skill you keep.

That’s the purpose of our discovery call. In 20 minutes, we’ll talk through your current situation and your goals. From there I’ll give you an honest recommendation. If a single Accelerator session will get you what you need, I’ll tell you that. If one of my packages makes the most sense for you, I’ll explain why.
“Because the goal was never just to interview well. It's to be genuinely, unmistakably chosen.”
Meet Erica
I spent the first chapter of my career as a fundraising executive, partnering with organizations like Columbia University and the Whitney Museum of American Art to cultivate major gifts from high-net-worth donors. That work taught me that success in high-stakes conversations isn't just about credentials; it's about communicating with clarity, confidence, and genuine authenticity. When I moved into recruitment, I saw the same truth from a different angle: talented, qualified candidates losing opportunities not because they weren't good enough, but because they couldn't make the hiring manager feel that they were.
My background as an actor adds another dimension to this work—a deep fluency in the subtle cues that shape how we're perceived, from body language and tone to the small hesitations that can quietly undermine an otherwise strong candidate.
Through the Authentic Advantage Method™, I help candidates stop performing and start communicating—showing up as themselves, with the clarity and presence that gets remembered.
